Logan Visser, an original TechGirlz participant who’s now a mentor at the youth nonprofit, was named a runner-up in a national competition recognizing young women’s achievements in technology.
Visser was among the top 15 percent of more than 2,300 entries in the competition held by the National Center for Women & Information Technology. She was recognized for her involvement in FIRST, a national robotics challenge, as well as OurSwapShop, a socially-minded business she developed at TechGirlz Summer Entrepreneur Camp, said Visser’s mother, Michelle Visser. The business will launch in early 2014.
Visser, 18, lives in Delaware and is homeschooled.
