It should be as easy as possible to apply for a job.
That’s the idea behind gatherDocs, a startup in Northern Liberties that launched this fall. Its target customers are in the retail and service industry, according to a release.
If you’re a gatherDocs customer, job seekers can apply for a job at your company with their smartphone by scanning a QR code or texting a custom code that will pull up the application. Job seekers can also get the application by going to the company’s site. gatherDocs also offers a system for employers to track job applicants.
Look at the explosion of mobile internet users and remember that those who skip the desktop experience might otherwise miss out on job opportunities.
gatherDocs declined to share how many customers it has but said it had them all across the country, including local ones like Villa, North Bowl and the Union League.
gatherDocs was founded by Alex King, Bruce Marable and Dan Lopez, the trio behind web consulting firm Defined Clarity. A team of five employees, gatherDocs is currently raising capital, a spokeswoman said.
