Masai Skief, the CEO of Harambee Institute of Science and Technology Charter School, plead guilty in federal court to stealing $88,000 from the school, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
Harambee is known for its STEM programs. Recently, a team of its middle school students placed second in a national engineering design competition.
The case will not affect STEMNASIUM Learning Academy, Harambee’s extracurricular STEM program, or the school’s STEM program, said STEMNASIUM COO Regina Hairston.
