Harambee Institute: STEM charter CEO pleads guilty to stealing $88k

The case will not affect STEMNASIUM Learning Academy, Harambee's extracurricular STEM program, or the school's STEM program, said STEMNASIUM COO Regina Hairston.

Masai Skief, the CEO of Harambee Institute of Science and Technology Charter School, plead guilty in federal court to stealing $88,000 from the school, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Harambee is known for its STEM programs. Recently, a team of its middle school students placed second in a national engineering design competition.

The case will not affect STEMNASIUM Learning Academy, Harambee’s extracurricular STEM program, or the school’s STEM program, said STEMNASIUM COO Regina Hairston.
