AxisPhilly: the Philadelphia Public Interest Information Network gets a new name

It’s the Philadelphia Public Interest Information Network no more (and we’re grateful, as it was always a handful to say, not to mention type). Meet AxisPhilly.

The William Penn Foundation-funded news outfit unveiled a new name last week at a party held at its newish N3rd Street office [find some photos here]. The team continues to publish content at its old site, but sign up here to get the latest on AxisPhilly.org.

AxisPhilly manages OpenDataPhilly.org, which is in the works to be the city’s open data portal, as we reported today.

The organization currently has a staff of five and is still hiring.
