Help a student get real-life job experience with NPower PA‘s ITWorks intern program.

ITWorks is a 16-week technology training program for disadvantaged young adults. Read more about the program and its first class, which graduated in 20120, here. Participants spend five weeks of the program at an internship with a local business.

Apply for an intern here. Internships are meant to start Nov. 5 and end Dec. 5.

NPower PA says the ideal company would:

  1. have a technology staff in place that the ITWorks student can shadow
  2. provide enough work to occupy the students’ time
  3. should include the student in as many different projects as possible in order to broaden the students’ view of the IT workplace.

It’s up to the business whether the internship is paid or not, through priority will be given to paid internships, NPower PA says. If the internship is unpaid, NPower PA asks that you buy the intern a transportation pass.
