Zivtech launches Houston Command Center [VIDEO]

It is "open source glue" for Drupal, Salesforce, other connectivity

A demo of Houston Command Center, a tool designed to integrate common local and cloud-based systems, has been released by Zivtech, the Old City Drupal design shop behind the project.
“The main idea behind Houston is to create a single application out of a couple of disperate systems,” said Zivtech co-founder Alex Urevick-Ackelsberg. “The whole is bigger than the sum of its parts, so it creates, in some sense, a central command center for all of your local and remote apps.”

Houston is meant to allow organizations to build a web application on top of the “most well supported and powerful systems on the web,” like Drupal, Salesforce, Alfresco and Node.js, now, with plans for more.
The center features a systems queuing system, supports a reduction of Salesforce.com seats, integrates particularly well with Drupal, the CMS of choice for Zivtech. Data backup and collection across systems are major features of the center’s connectivity.
“Houston was created to solve some specific technical challenges faced by organizations relying on disparate technologies to perform their central mission,” Urevick-Ackelsberg said. “And the service can fit a lot of missions.”
