World fairs may seem like a relic from the past, but Worlds Fair USA is intent on rejuvenating and reintroducing that storied model. The group’s latest offering is Worlds Fair Nano NY, which lands at the Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint Sept. 16–17.
The event, which features some big-name speakers, seeks to provide an illuminating panorama on future trends and innovations. The event will allow attendees to sample and interact with a wide range of groundbreaking tech experiences, including drone flying, virtual reality music, interactive art, 3D pens and social robots, for example.
Michael Weiss, cofounder and CEO of Worlds Fair USA, says the event and other events planned by his company are “bringing the future to life in a fun and exciting way,” and allowing the public to experience the future at an affordable price. He notes that Brooklyn was chosen as a site for the New York event because it’s a hotbed of “cool technologists and artists.”
Some of the high-profile speakers at the event include:
- Sen. Tim Kaine on “The Future of American Leadership”
- Consensys founder Joseph Lubin on “The Future of the Blockchain”
- Foursquare founder Dennis Crowley on “The Future of Location Data”
- Borough President Eric Adams on “The Future of Brooklyn”
