Head to NYC AgTech Week 2017 next month to hear about the future of food

From greens harvested in upcycled shipping containers to chemical-free hydroponic fertilizer, the future of food is growing fast. And next month you’ll have a chance to see the latest advancements in food tech.

NYC AgTech Week 2017 kicks off Sept. 16. Hosted by the NYC Agriculture Collective the five-day event brings together the entrepreneurs, developers, consultants and more working to design, build and brand the future of food production.

The NYC AgTech Collective is based in Brooklyn, and dedicated to sustainability and restructuring the local food system through entrepreneurship. “The collective formed as response to our societal needs,” said Liz Vaknin, cofounder of Our Name is Farm, one of the collective’s most recent members.

AgTech Week promises five days of workshops, farm tours, panel discussions and networking events. Vaknin is most excited for the on-farm dinner at North Brooklyn Farms on Tuesday, Sept. 19. But she’s also looking forward to when Blue Planet Consulting reveals its latest design for the +farm, a build-it-yourself scalable indoor farm unit for the home.

All-access passes have sold out, but tickets to specific events are available here. Organizers are adding more events over the next few weeks.
