Who’s getting money?
EVEN Financial, which helps supply quality borrowers to peer-to-peer lending marketplaces, secured $2.8 million on an offered $2.8 million equity-only round, according to an SEC filing. The round was led by Canaan Partners, according to Fortune. While the company filed from a Williamsburg address, the operation isn’t based here, according to an email from the company.
MindBodyGreen contributor James Maskell is the founder of Evolution of Medicine, which sold $25,000 on an offered $500,000 debt-only round, according to an SEC filing. The site offers a digital and cloud-based package of all the talks from the first Evolution of Medicine summit. Another summit is planned for September 2015, according to his MindBodyGreen bio.
Travel site Atlas Obscura raised a $2 million seed round, as we previously reported.
Who’s making moves?
South Brooklyn-based Venux released its first product, Connect, with more on the way. Venux is working to build a whole suite of super-secure communications products, from video chat to file sharing. The company claims to have built server-free approach to security that can’t be hacked, which it calls Zero Knowledge.
