“Where R U” is a piece from local collective gifriends, a group of artists who take photos and make GIFs together. Michael Fivis, Marisa Gertz, Peter Marquez and Alex Thebez have been making GIFs together since 2010.
“Where R U” was a selection of GIFs made for a show, “TO-NYC / Breaking Boundaries” at Superbudda in Turin, Italy. In the show’s description, gifriends basically poses a question: is today’s communication technology isolating us from each other or layering our relationships?
