Broadband, fintech and automation are a few of the topics on tap for the ninth annual Broadband and Social Justice Summit.
The event will be held at the Georgetown Westin Hotel on February 6 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and includes more than 30 speakers from advocacy groups, industry and government. The event includes:
- A discussion with Federal Communications Commission members including chair Ajit Pai. Net Neutrality and 5G are both on the agenda.
- A town hall on the impact of broadband adoption, voter participation, Smart Cities, political advertising in minority-owned media, and the Digital 2020 Census on communities of color.
- Discussions on the impact of automation on jobs, as well as how fintech can close the wealth gap.
A General Counsels’ Forum addressing opportunities and obstacles for content creators in media and tech, intellectual property protection, privacy and algorithm discrimination, among other topics.
