Xfinity to open ‘destination’ store in Chinatown Sunday

The store has VR and a 360 photo booth.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and some of the area’s professional athletes will be on-hand at the grand opening of Studio Xfinity at 715 7th Street NW in Chinatown on Sunday.

The grand opening will be held from 12 to 6 p.m., and the ribbon cutting will be held at 12:30 p.m.

The event includes meet and greets with:

  • Washington Wizards Mascot “G-Wiz” at 2 p.m.
  • Have your picture taken with the Redskins cheerleaders at 2:30 p.m.
  • Washington Capitals centre Jay Beagle from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Washington Redskins  Shawn Springs from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Former Redskins linebacker Trent Murphy from 5 to 6 p.m.

The 9,000 square foot store allows customers to interact with latest Xfinity products and services. There will be chances to try out 4D Virtual Reality by Samsung Gear VR, and get your picture snapped at the Samsung Gear 360 photo booth. And there will be sports. Starting at 1 p.m. watch the the Redskins game against the New Orleans Saints broadcast throughout the store.
