On May 16, 2016, when Title III of the JOBS Act came into effect, the equity crowdfunding landscape changed dramatically. That is, it became legal.

But what does this mean exactly? What are the confines, restrictions of the new law? With the JOBS Act as with any piece of legislation, the answers to these questions can be confusing.

This is precisely what William Michael Cunningham tackles in his book The JOBS Act: Crowdfunding Guide to Small Businesses and Startups, the second edition of which was recently released. In the book, according to one description, Cunningham “trawls the hundreds of pages of new rules for the essential takeaways and practical tips on successfully tapping the new crowdfunding sources that the JOBS Act opens up to small businesses and startups, while complying with new SEC regulations in the least burdensome way.”

And in celebration of the edition, Cunningham will share some insights from the book tonight, Jan. 11, at an event at cove in Chinatown. Thinking about diving into the world of equity crowdfunding? This sounds like a valuable event. More info, and RSVP, below.
