What do a video-based dating app, a carpooling app and an algorithm to match jobseekers and employers have in common?
They’re all women-led startups, and they’re all on the list of 10 finalists for the Women Startup Challenge in New York in November. The Challenge is organized by D.C.-based Women Who Tech — an organization that supports and funds women-led startups. The event in November will be the first-ever regional competition, bringing together women in tech from all over the Northeast.
The victor of the pitch competition will win $25,000, but there are other prizes on offer too including free office space and consulting services.
Women Who Tech held their first pitch competition here in D.C. in June. The winner of that competition was On Second Thought, an app that allows users to take back text messages they regret sending. As Technical.ly reported in August, On Second Thought has since moved to the Bay Area.
Head to the Women Who Tech website to see a full list of the startups that will be competing in November.
