If you’re a veteran, serving member or military spouse trying to feel safer on your computer, there’s a bootcamp for you.
On July 15, digital service agency Blue Water is hosting a free workshop on cybersecurity at its Greenbelt headquarters.
“It’s a hot-button issue right now,” said CEO Curt Schwab. “There’s a lot of opportunity related to cybersecurity.”
Schwab decided to create a series of workshops for current or former military members and their families after serving contracts for the U.S. Department of Defense.
The first two-hour session will be taught by Blue Water Director of Technology Fazlul Kabir, who also works as an adjunct professor in cybersecurity at the University of Maryland, College Park.
The program seeks to “expand knowledge base for active duty, veterans and families so that they can excel in the job marketplace.” The next class will be on HTML and CSS, said Schwab.
