In 2017, the Millennial Summit had its first event — a daylong conference for young professionals in Delaware, the first of its kind.
Launched by Charlie Vincent, executive director of Spur Impact, and Rob Herrera, founder of The Mill, the day of panels, keynote speakers, vendors and networking was a success, connecting local young impact players and thought leaders. Since then, it evolved into a two-day event, with last year’s addition of Entrepreneurship Day.
The Millennial Summit has always been held at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. This year, with the COVID-19 pandemic still impacting the safety of large gatherings (even as businesses reopen), the event, themed “20/20 Vision,” will be all virtual and interactive, featuring more 80 speakers over three days starting on Aug. 3.
“In today’s COVID environment, there is still a need to network, and the #MILLSUMMIT is a great experience that provides an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow as a young professional,” Vincent said. “In moving to a virtual summit, our planning committee has expanded the event to three full days with over 30 hours of programming, panels, and speakers providing practical tips, networking opportunities, and live content. We are excited that a much wider audience can access our event than in the past and look forward to announcing more details about our keynote and featured speakers over the next few weeks.”
Speakers announced so far:
- Keynote: Entrepreneur/investor John Henry, cofounder of the nonprofit incubator Cofound Harlem, a former venture partner at Harlem Capital Partners and former host of VICE TV’s “Hustle”
- Megan Burke Roudebush, founder of Keepwith
- Pedro Moore, venture capitalist advisor and founder of FundingFuel, Inc.
- Elaine Grogan Luttrull, founder of Minerva Financial Arts
