Global Health and Pharma (GHP), a U.K.-based global healthcare trade publication, recently announced the winners of its 2020 GHP Awards, and the Newark-based Patient Sortal — Technical.ly’s #3 pick on the 2020 RealLIST Startups — is named in the biotechnology category,
Its founder, Kenny Ecks, announced the news recently on LinkedIn.
Patient Sortal is a healthcare data management system that uses cloud-based blockchain technology to help patients with ongoing medical conditions work with care teams to maintain the continuum of care when transitioning from hospital to home.
“I started this company in fall of 2017 and since have turned an idea into a business that manages protected health information and provides each member of a patients care team with complete health records to decrease the cost of healthcare, increase the quality of care, and increase quality of life in Delawareans,” Ecks said when the company, winner of Hen Hatch 2019’s alumni track, first hit our radar.
The selection process for the GHP Biotechnology awards involved research and nominations, followed by an evaluation and judging by the GPH research team. As a winning company, Patient Sortal will appear in a feature in a special digital issue of the publication.
