Horn Entrepreneurship’s Summer Founders launches a promising fourth cohort

University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship’s Summer Founders program has developed to the point where we’ve already heard of many of the startups participating in its fourth cohort.

The three-month incubator that ends with a demo day where participants present their startups to members of the local business community supporting economic development, and teams receive up to $10,000 to devote to working on their startup all summer long.

Past Summer Founder participants include UrbInvest, And Again and TheraV (then called Vibrating Therapeutic Apparel).

Who’s in it this year? Take a look:

• 360VR Technology (Suryansh Gupta, College of Engineering, Computer Science, class of 2020) — Using virtual reality and drones to create 3D maps for first responders during emergency situations
• bra•vo (Amanda Monachelli, Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation, class of 2021) — Innovative undergarments for women recovering from breast cancer surgeries
• Designing Independence (Kelsey Kosinski, College of Arts & Sciences, Fashion & Apparel Studies, class of 2019) — Designing adaptive clothing for people living with disabilities
• EaveStopping (James Mesaros, College of Arts and Sciences, Philosophy, class of 2020) — Tech that protects private conversations using an inaudible sound that only microphones and eavesdropping devices can hear
• Friends 4 Friends (Darian Elmendorf, Lerner College of Business and Economics, Entrepreneurship & Technology Innovation, class of 2019) — Reducing the stigma of mental illness via mental health and suicide awareness
• Nollege (Abu Kamara, College of Arts & Sciences, Mathematics, class of 2020 and Hope Vega, College of Health Sciences, Nutrition and Dietetics, class of 2020) — Education website that provides college students with virtual hubs for each classroom
• Snoop (Andrew Cercena, Lerner College of Business and Economics, Entrepreneurship & Technology Innovation and Finance, Class of 2021 and Nick Novoa, Lerner College of Business and Economics, Marketing, class of 2021) — Platform that optimizes a best-fit college choice system for high school students
• The SEWcial Café (ChaCha Hudson, College of Arts & Sciences, Fashion & Apparel Studies, class of 2019) — A community sewing makerspace for women to create
