When Dr. Carrie Gray stepped down as managing director of the Wilmington Renaissance Corporation in June, after 20 years with the organization, it was clear that replacing her wouldn’t be easy. Two months after her last day, and the economic development group is still looking.

What does it take to be the new MD for the WRC?

  • A minimum of 10 years in two of these areas: economic development, fundraising, community development and/or public administration.
  • Relevant bachelors degree required; master’s preferred.
  • Highly organized.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Team player.

And most importantly, the candidate must live in Delaware, preferably Wilmington, with a commitment to the downtown area, established relationships with community leaders and funders (preferred) and active participation in the community.

The starting salary is up to $125,000, based on experience, with full benefits.

If you or someone you know is a good fit for the position, WRC will be accepting applications via email at least through Aug. 31. For details, click here.
