You have two chances to get your geek on this weekend

Wilmington hosts two pop-culture cons this weekend, including one held on First Friday's Art Loop.

If you’re going to be down on the waterfront for the free Small Business Owner’s Boot Camp on Friday — or even if your Delaware Innovation Week 2017 itinerary doesn’t start until next week — you’ll be just around the corner from Underground Comic Con V, which is returning to the Delaware Contemporary this year.
UCC was founded by Wilmington comic creator and founder of Underground Comixxx, Jabaar Brown, who wanted a con that was diverse, kid-friendly, gave small comic creators a way to get their work seen and was free for the community. It’s a great way to discover new local artists, support small local businesses and check out some cool cosplay.
UCCV starts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 at the Delaware Contemporary. As part of November’s Art Loop, entry is free and tickets are not required.
Then, on Saturday and Sunday in Claymont, there’s Thy Geekdom Con IV, an all-around geek/pop culture con featuring gaming tournaments (including Smash Melee and Street Fighter V); live music by Super Thrash Bros, Rhythm & Pixels, REAKT and The Dorothy Matrix 8-Bit Orchestra; anime screenings; tabletop gaming; lots of panels; and plenty of cosplay.

Thy Geekdom Con IV will be held at Crowne Plaza Wilmington North, 630 Naamans Rd., in Claymont. Tickets are $20 for both days, $15 for Saturday, and $10 for Sunday. Click here to purchase tickets.
