It’s almost summertime, and that means warmer weather, longer days, and for students: no school. But the learning doesn’t have to end just because class does.
Here are 7 STEM-related summer camps in Delaware that’ll keep your young ones engaged and learning, without putting a damper on the fun.

Summer Camps at Delaware Technical Community College (Dover)

• Price: $95 per session, $190 for the full day.

The customizable summer programs at DelTech cater to students in grades K-8 (though they also have programs for teens and young adults ages 16-24). Running from June 12-Aug. 18, each week and grade level features different workshops and programs. Morning and afternoon sessions are three hours each (9 a.m.-12 p.m., 1 p.m.-4 p.m.), and before and after camp is available for those who need to arrive earlier or stay later for an additional $35.  STEM-related activities include photography, computer science, engineering, coding and building programs. Tower Hill School Enrichment Camps and Science Explorer (Newark and Wilmington)

• Price: Varies. Between $195-$450.

Tower Hill in Wilmington offers an array of tech-related activities for students. A few programs include drone operation, robotics, 3D printing and video game development. Individual camps at Tower Hill are one week long, from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. In conjunction with Science Explorers, summer programs are also available for children ages 4-11. Marine biology, astronomy and geology are just a few of the topics available within the program. Delaware Museum of Natural History (Wilmington)

• Price: Varies depending on grade level and program. Members of the museum receive a discount.

For those with a strong interest in nature, the Delaware Museum of Natural History offers exploration programs for kids in pre-K through 6th grade. Camps are even available for children under three. Camps are a week long, and before and after care is available. A few points of interest for older students include wilderness exploration and engineering activities. The University of Delaware offers a wide range of summer camps for students of all ages, including engineering, coding and environmental science. The majority of the options are one-week specialty programs, and students will learn new skills in their area of interest. Camps vary in time and length. Sylvan Learning Center (Newark)

• Price: Varies. EDGE STEM programs begin at $95.

The Sylvan Learning Center summer camp in Newark offers a variety of different sessions, with STEM being one of the main areas. Students in grades 1-6 can build robots out using software and LEGOs, while students in grades 3-8 can learn more about the world of JavaScript and Python Coding with advanced programming activities. Bricks4Kidz (Wilmington)

In sessions ranging from June 19 to Aug. 18, students ages 6+ have the opportunity to participate in creative scientific applications. From Minecraft to robotics, this four-to-five day, morning or afternoon camp gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the world of technology.
