Open to all but tailored to women, Zip Code Wilmington’s set to host an event this February called “What Does A Programmer Look Like?”
It’s going down at the Microsoft Store in the Christiana Mall on February 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m..
Those who attend can expect to:

  • Network with some female technologists.
  • Hear why women make great programmers.
  • Learn what a career in software development looks like.
  • Explore how to break into the tech industry.
  • Be entered into a raffle to win a NuVision Signature Edition PC tablet.

The event features Microsoft Technical Evangelist Amanda Lange. Attendees can join and hear Lange discuss her career, experiences as a woman in game and app development and how to get started in coding. A Q&A and open discussion will follow.
Lange’s experience includes working on projects with West Virginia University, Michigan State University and game developer Schell Games. Schell Games’ recently released title isĀ I Expect You To Die, a virtual reality game set in the world of spies. I’ve played it, it’s good.
If you’re looking to attend, be sure to RSVP.
