For the University of Delaware’s 166th Commencement, David DeWalt is the main event.
The CEO of the publicly traded, Silicon Valley-based FireEye is also a UD grad. DeWalt got his bachelor’s in computer science in 1986, according to a university press release.

Prior to joining the cybersecurity firm in 2012 — which has become a go-to source for dealing with cyberattacks, according to a recent article in USA Today — DeWalt was the CEO of McAfee, the ubiquitous antivirus giant that he sold to Intel for $7.68 billion in 2010.
No word on what DeWalt’s speech will be about, but during his time as a Blue Hen he was an award-winning collegiate wrestler — the first to be inducted into the Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame.
Maybe he’ll bust out an old singlet.
As for the people DeWalt will be speaking to, a grand total of 5,979 degrees (for both undergraduate and graduate programs) will be issued. He might want to check in with the 20 graduates of the Bachelor of Computer Engineering program. (Don’t fret about the low number, there’s also a separate computer science degree.)
