If there’s anything we can tell you after having spent the weekend in Washington teaching 6,300 enthusiastic and talented young high school journalism students at the Journalism Education Association annual national conference, it’s to never stop learning.
Fortunately, we know you don’t plan to stop. And more power to you for that. This week is light on events, but there’s plenty to gain.
Philadelphia Linux Users Group West talks cloud computing, philly.NET celebrates its eighth anniversary and PhillyALT.net leads a discussion on functional programming, after the jump.
All events listed on the event calendar are free to attend. Be sure to check our complete calendar for more.

Monday, November 16: On Monday, Philadelphia Linux Users Group West invites readers to see FIS‘s Fred Stluka speak about cloud computing. It’s a hot topic, one that has a lot of promise, but surely one that has a long road ahead of it. All day. Malvern. DETAILS. [view more events]
Wednesday, November 18: PhillyALT.net has what looks to be an enlightening conversation about concepts of functional programming, an ancient programming methodology that dates back to the 1930s. It’s a pretty heavy topic and an event info release goes as far as to say it “will transform the way you think.” Dayumn kids, that sounds serious. 6:00 p.m. Poplar. RSVP. [view more events]
Thursday, November 19: philly.NET is celebrating its eighth anniversary, which is practically an eternity in Microsoft time. They’re mixing it up for the special occasion, bringing 10 speakers to give short 15 minute presentations on .NET topics. 5:30 p.m. Malvern. DETAILS. [view more events]
