Power Moves: Government Tactical Solutions promoted Luke Howe to COO

Luke Howe has been promoted to chief operating officer at Government Tactical Solutions (GovTact), provider of mission-critical technical solutions to the federal government. He most recently served as the company’s executive vice president for the past five years, where he led GovTact’s business strategy and growth.

“Luke has been instrumental in GovTact’s success over the past five years,” said GovTact CEO Paul Sanchez in a statement. “He is a results-oriented leader who works tirelessly to successfully bring the GovTact team together to deliver industry leading solutions to our customers. I am lucky to have him as a partner and member of this organization.”

Howe earned a bachelor’s degree in business and political science from Boston College and previously held leadership roles at General Electric and Tysons, Virginia-based Sagent Partners.

McClean, Virginia-based tech firm Dovel Technologies announced a new advisory board to help it advance its strategic growth plan. Here are the first three members:

• Adaeze Enekwechi, who is also a board member at Alliance for Health Policy, BehaVR and the Public Health Institute.
• Lynn Goldman, a pediatrician and an epidemiologist serving as the Michael and Lori Milken Dean and Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University.
• Louis Tripoli, a medical executive who recently retired from the United States Navy.

General Dynamics (GD) Chairman and CEO Phebe Novakovic will begin serving on JPMorgan Chase’s board of directors effective Dec. 7. She joined GD, a Reston, Virginia-based aerospace and defense company, in 2001 and worked in various roles before becoming the company’s CEO in 2013. She also led its purchase of CSRA two years ago for $9.7 billion and has helped the company increase its annual revenue to more than 26% in the past seven years, the Washington Business Journal reported.

Novakovic previously worked at the CIA before joining GD and holds board positions at Abbott Laboratories, Northwestern University, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation and the National Military Family Association.

Bethesda, Maryland-based Fidelis Cybersecurity, a threat detection, hunting and response solutions provider, has welcomed Anup Ghosh as its new CEO. Ghosh previously served as the managing director and and global platforms lead of Accenture Security and he will now focus on leading Fidelis through its next growth stage.

Ghosh previously founded Invincea, a Virginia-based machine learning cybersecurity company that was acquired by Sophos in March 2017. He’s also previously held leadership roles at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Center for Secure Information Systems at George Mason University and Cigital.
