This upcoming pitch competition is looking for social entrepreneurs

The winning startup will receive a $15,000 cash prize while six finalists will receive in-kind prizes.

Social entrepreneurs, Digital Empowers’ Pitch for Purpose startup competition is looking for ventures using technology to address social and environmental challenges in the world today.

The pitch event is being organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in collaboration with local social impact incubator SEED SPOT. TCS, an India-based information technology service and consulting company, the D.C.-based U.S. Chamber Foundation Business and Strategic Partners Network and the SEED SPOT Accelerator community will provide mentorship and pitch coaching to founders selected to participate.

Applications are due on Aug. 21, and finalists will be announced on Sept. 10. The pitch competition will air live virtually at the Digital Empowers Summit on Oct. 8.

Eligible startups interested in participating in the pitch competition must be headquartered in the U.S., have raised less than $1 million in venture capital and have a social mission. Startups must also be early-stage and the founder applying to pitch must be a part of the current executive team.

The winning startup will receive a $15,000 cash prize. The six finalists selected will also receive promotional opportunities and virtual exhibit space at the summit and free registration to a two-day launch camp hosted by SEED SPOT.

The Digital Empowers Summit, taking place Oct. 7 and 8, is a national event and campaign featuring virtual programming where experts address emerging technologies like blockchain, robotics and artificial intelligence.
