Through the panel events Conversations with Women Making a Difference, Blue Blaze Associates and NEWS4Women have brought trailblazing, intriguing and change-making women to the Delaware Art Museum since 2018.
This fall, the event — still a fundraiser for local organizations — will be livestreamed from The Mill, to be viewed via Zoom, on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 5:30 p.m.
“We have received rave reviews for the unscripted and candid conversations we’ve hosted in the past,” said Wendy Scott, cofounder of Blue Blaze Associates. “Our priority in moving to a livestream environment is to preserve the authenticity of these events. With the panelists and facilitator together in real life, we’re looking forward to the same engaging and thought-provoking experience our audiences have come to appreciate.”
As always, the discussion will be led by NEWS4Women founder Carol Arnott-Robbins and will be followed by a Q&A session and networking opportunities with the panelists.
Per organizers, the October panelists are:
- Colleen Perry Keith — New president of Goldey-Beacom College and the first woman to hold the position in the school’s 133-year history (as well as the first woman president at the last two colleges where she worked)
- Melody Phillips — Director of operations for The Warehouse and chair of the Workforce Development Committee for REACH Riverside. Run for teens and by teens, The Warehouse will offer comprehensive after-school opportunities for up to 700 teens in Riverside, one of the Wilmington’s most underserved neighborhoods.
- Latifa Ihsan Ali — CEO and head designer of LiaWear Action, a company born out of her desire to empower Muslim women to pursue the activities they love, with hijab solutions and a line of modest swimsuits and sportswear.
