The fourth annual DC Startup Week is slated for Sept. 9 to 13. The weeklong event series was created as a means of bringing the startup community together, and is expected to bring out 7,000 attendees.
Registration is still open and attendees can pre-build their own schedule of events for the week.

Byte Back DC Birthday Bash

Functional Programming — A Talk by Paula Gearon
The Women Who Code DC chapter is hosting a talk with Paula Gearon, a technologist with 26 years of experience in software development. Gearon will be teaching attendees about the functional programming coding language. Previous experience with functional programming is not needed but prior coding experience in any language is recommended.

Tech to Protect Challenge: Washington, DC
The Tech to Protect Challenge, implemented by the RedFlash Group and SecondMuse, is a codeathon event for technologists, investors and entrepreneurs focused on making tech solutions to improve the safety of their communities. This national open innovation contest is part of a series of codeathons being hosted in 10 different U.S. cities. You can participate in person or online. This event is hosted by General Assembly.
