Rob Nicholson, solutions integrator for the Delaware Department of Technology and Information, wants to get a Delaware company — especially a downstate “rural innovation” company — into FedTech, the D.C. startup studio that pairs cohorts of entrepreneurs and inventors with new technology and mentorships.
Nicholson will be a mentor for this year’s cohort, but he’s not the only Delaware connection to FedTech: Its founder, Ben Solomon, sits on the Entrepreneurial Advisory Council for the Delaware Innovation Space.
“As you know, I’ve been waving the Sussex County flag for some time now and building awareness around rural innovation,” Nicholson told Technical.ly. “With that, my recent Navy Reserve assignment with Office of Naval Research has allowed me to tap the federal innovation networks and connect more dots. Now with my new state job, I serve in an innovation role which has allowed me to dedicate more time to these types of efforts.”
The goal is to get the word out in Delaware about FedTech so that a Delaware company is in position to participate in the intensive 10-week program next year.
That said, the deadline for this year is Aug. 20. Click here for more info.
