Washington, D.C.-based public transit tech company TransitScreen is expanding its services to Europe.
This initial European expansion will include 14 cities: blog post.
These cities encompass 70 million people where most use public transportation, TransitScreen said in aMuch like in the U.S. and Latin America, these European cities will have access to transit data information available through TransitScreen’s displays in buildings and its mobile app, CityMotion.
“We have seen significant demand from our corporate customers to serve their offices in Europe,” TransitScreen Cofounder Ryan Croft said in a statement. “So many European workers commute by public transit, and new transportation options such as bikeshare, e-scooters, electric bikes, and ride-hailing have grown rapidly across the continent.”
This expansion announcement comes after TransitScreen secured a $3 million investment from Vancouver-based TIMIA Capital, a financing company that specializes in investing in tech companies in exchange for payments based on monthly revenue. That was the company’s first public funding announcement, where it said it would put the funds toward amping up CityMotion, expanding its D.C. office and increase its team through hiring. TransitScreen said the CityMotion app is currently available in multiple languages, including
“We’re very excited to be incorporating this data into our platform,” Tyler Dillard, mobility data analyst at TransitScreen, said in the blog post. “We look forward to continuing to grow our global data platform.”
