Babyscripts lands a $500K strategic partnership with Inova Health System

D.C.–based Babyscripts, a startup that developed a virtual care platform for managing obstetrics, has landed a strategic partnership with nonprofit Inova Health System.

Falls Church, Va.-based Inova will implement Babyscripts’ tool into its employee health plan through Innovation Health, a partnership between Inova and heathcare company Aetna, a press release states. This new partnership between Inova and Babyscripts also comes with a $500,000 investment for the D.C. startup.

“Babyscripts offers the opportunity to further the impact of our wellness programs on the lives of expecting families in the region,” Seema Wadhwa, assistant VP of sustainability and wellness at Inova said in a statement. “We currently see over 11,000 people through our childbirth and parenting education, and we are pleased to expand our holistic care offerings for pregnant moms and their families with this additional tool.”

After Inova deploys Babyscripts’ tool to its employees, it will then expand the offering to its entire system so Babyscripts can engage women continuously through pregnancy and postpartum with digital tools.

This announcement comes a few months after Babyscripts inked a $6 million strategic investment round led by international health tech company Philips to expand its U.S. footprint and update its tech.
