Girls Who Code and JPMorganChase are offering a big opportunity to Wilmington high school girls currently in their sophomore and junior years: a free, full-time, seven-week tech immersion program designed to guide students toward careers in computer science.
The non-residential, weekday program also offers a $300 to $1,400 need-based stipend to cover transportation costs and/or to support students who would otherwise earn a summer income. To be eligible for the program, students must:
- Currently be in the 10th or 11th grade
- Be female, female-identifying and gender nonconforming
- Live/study in the U.S.
- Be able to commit to attending every weekday from June 24 to Aug. 9 (with the exception of July 4 to 5)
- And have not taken an AP computer science course.
Students with little to no computer science experience are encouraged to apply. The summer immersion program will be held at JPMorganChase in Wilmington. Application deadline is March 15.
