For those looking to make a job or career move, #DIW18 can be a golden ticket.

Delaware Innovation Week 2018 offers plenty of chances to meet with representatives from local companies looking to fill tech jobs, as well as opportunities for (resume-friendly) volunteer opportunities.

Here’s a sampling of who’s looking:

CSC

With its state-of-the-art headquarters in suburban Wilmington, a job at CSC — a leading name in business, legal, tax, and digital brand services — feels like a taste of Silicon Valley, in more laid-back (and affordable!) Delaware.

Currently, CSC has about 50 tech job openings in Wilmington, many of which you can see on their jobs site.

Looking for some face time? They’ll have at least four people tabling at the Dev Conference on Wednesday, November 7.

“Some of our Digital Brand Services team will be in attendance, including Business Analyst Jessie Yancoskie and Developer Jonathan Schall, who are currently searching for business analysts, developers and software test engineers to join the team,” said CSC’s Robert Kalesse. “Additionally, Corporate and Legal Solutions Technology Manager Justin Dellert will be on the lookout for a security architect, security analyst, and scrum master. CSC offers the stability of nearly 120 years of business experience, a state-of-the-art global headquarters, remote working capabilities, and flexible hours to promote a positive work-life balance for its employees.”

Christiana Care

With locations all over Delaware, Christiana Care has job openings across the state, including dozens of tech jobs in New Castle County. Catherine Burch, Head of the Health & Technology Innovation Center at Christiana Care, will be giving a Dev Talk at the DIW Dev Conference on November 7.

ChristianaCare has lots of tech openings here.

Dual School

The nonprofit program for high schoolers, where adults support students creating projects of personal importance, has volunteer opportunities. Never underestimate how much giving back to the community can make you better at your chosen profession, and it looks good on the resume, too.

Dual School, with locations at 1313 Innovation and William Penn High School, is looking for mentors and facilitators who are passionate about creating the next generation of changemakers. “As long as you care about elevating the voice of young people and you’re willing to learn our process, we have plenty of opportunities to get involved,” said program Director Zack Jones. WilminGO

The golf cart taxi startup, which will be featured at the Business Conference, is getting ready to take its winter break, but if you’re interested in working with them next season they’ll be hiring again in 2019.

If you’re looking for a tech job, be sure to bring a few copies of your resume to the Business and Dev Conferences. It’s a smart move.

See you there!
