Great Dames, the networking organization for women leaders will seize the day during Delaware Innovation Week 2018 by hosting a special event at Harry’s Savoy Grill, on November from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

On even numbered years (such as this one), Great Dames hosts a pitch competition called Remarkable Ideas, where women share ideas designed to improve quality of life and community.

This year’s six finalists delivered their final pitches at the Remarkable Ideas event on Oct. 15. The winning pitch, selected by the audience, will be announced by Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long at the #DIW18 event.

Competing for a $25,000 package that includes funding, mentorship and business services, a half-dozen finalist founders and teams pitched their ideas in health and wellness, safety and security, education and youth.

But his year, the Remarkable Ideas Competition Winner Announcement event includes a new element: Remarkable Youth Pitches, where teen girls will deliver 60-second pitches. Winners will be announced at the event and awarded prizes including gift cards and invitations to the Great Dames community.

“Because of the caliber of ideas from these incredible entrepreneurs, we’re proud to say that the Remarkable Pitch Competition has become the leading pitch competition targeting women-owned enterprises in the region,” said the group’s president Sharon Kelly Hake. “We can’t wait to announce the winners to the community.”

The fee for this event is $50 ($40 for Great Dames Circle Members), including hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks.
