Penn engineer named to MIT’s list of top innovators [NewsWorks]: “[Duygu Kuzum’s] fascination with biological computers eventually led her to Brian Litt’s lab at the University of Pennsylvania, where she’s been working to create transparent brain electrodes made of graphene. The idea is to record electrical activity while taking pictures of the brain. That information can be used to better understand brain circuits and begin to decipher neurological problems.”

Software development firm to open $1M simulation center [Philadelphia Business Journal]: “Software development firm Education Management Solutions is building a 5,000-square-foot simulation center at its headquarters in Exton, Pa. The clinical training facility will mainly cater to educational institutions and hospitals within a 50- to 60-mile radius that can’t afford their own simulation equipment. (At simulation centers health-care researchers and clinicians can develop their skills by working on mannequins and other non-living teaching tools.)”
