If you’re hitting event after event this week, you’ve already felt and heard the momentum: the District’s startup and tech community is thriving. Opportunities abound. It’s a jobseeker’s market.

Ten years ago, the average Washingtonian might have only heard the distant rattle of a few, loud startup leaders who saw that kind of job-growth potential. But today, as the tech and creative workforce has become a more accessible way to reshape our future economies, we have more voices than ever directing where we’re headed.

We share a rallying position: People will power the next decade of growth in D.C., so we must get, keep and grow smart people — here.

This Friday, Gensler and Technical.ly are teaming up for a conversation on the state of the D.C. tech workforce during the first-ever WeDC Fest. We couldn’t think of a better place to have that conversation about how we’re connecting people than at this exciting conference focused on inclusive innovation.

Join us at the Pepco Edison Building in Chinatown at 2 p.m. for a back-and-forth Q&A between Technical.ly DC’s Michelai Graham and Gensler’s Abbie Howard, who is the workplace design firm’s tech-sector lead.

What can D.C. do to draw top talent and leading companies to the area? How are companies improving their culture and office environments to find and retain top talent? How do these efforts connect to all citizens of the District?

Find out from Graham and Howard this Friday.
