As-yet-unannounced DE.CO food joints will cater the DCAD@20 Art Party

Delaware College of Art & Design celebrates its 20th graduating class this year, and the art school is throwing a big party to raise funds for scholarships and operations costs.

The after-work DCAD@20 Art Party will be an indoor/outdoor affair, taking place in DCAD’s Market Street galleries, as well as on Sixth Street between the galleries. The $50 ticket price includes food and drinks (including beverages of the adult variety), musical entertainment and, of course, lots of local art.

If you’re excited about DE.CO, the food hall that Buccini/Pollin Group is creating in the DuPont Building, there’s another reason this is going to be a hot party — it’s going to be catered by restaurants that will have spaces at DE.CO when it opens later this year. As of now, the eight restaurants have not been announced.

The chairs of the event are Mati Bonetti de Buccini, director of Atelier (whose husband is real estate developer Chris Buccini of Buccini/Pollin), and Cindy Pettinaro Wilkinson, owner of COCA Art, a local art gallery and retailer.

“DCAD planted the creative flag in downtown Wilmington,” Wilkinson said. “The creative community has flourished under their umbrella. The Art Party will really showcase this.”

DCAD@20 Art Party will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thurdsay, April 19. Presenting sponsors are M&T Bank and Wilmington Trust. A Special Patron Package and sponsorship options are available.
