Samir Saini is New York City’s new Chief Information Officer.

Saini’s title also includes being the commissioner of the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (NYC DoITT), which brought the LinkNYC kiosks to the city.

Saini comes here from Atlanta, where he was that city’s IT commissioner and CIO for more than three years.

Brooklyn startup Remesh adds Noele Emmons and Emma Borochoff as sales and marketing directors.

The market research startup uses artificial intelligence to innovate in the field. Last year it raised $2.2 million and earlier this month it announced five new hires, including these two at the director level.

Borochoff comes to the company after nearly six years at digital events company Bizzabo, where she rose from a community manager to its brand and communications director.

Emmons, who’s based in Seattle, is a sales veteran, having been at the director level at two previous companies out on the West Coast.

Chris Giliberti announced as head of Gimlet Pictures.

Giliberti was an internal promotion at Gimlet when it launched its film and television arm last month, Gimlet Pictures.

This year, Amazon Video will premiere a show called Homecoming, based off the Gimlet podcast of the same name, which will star Julia Roberts. Another upcoming show based on a Gimlet podcast will be Alex, Inc., set to air on ABC and starring and directed by Zach Braff. The show will be based off of Gimlet founder Alex Blumberg’s StartUp podcast.
