Enter the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development’s (DMPED) relatively new blog — This is DC. The blog celebrates local creatives and entrepreneurs in the District through profiles on individuals like Monica Kang (of InnovatorsBox and DMV Startup) as well as organizations like Union Kitchen.

“DC is home to some of the nation’s most creative entrepreneurs, innovators, story tellers and artists,” the blog declares. “Fueled by the diversity of voices and ideas, this blog will feature a variety of videos and images of the people, places and ideas that shape this dynamic and inclusive city.”
This is DC launched in March. The blog is also accepting new suggestions on local creators to feature — submit your D.C. story, or recommend another, via the website’s contact page.
