Catt Small’s new game about your friend’s breakup sounds … really good?

It’s a situation that’s all too familiar for some of us. Your friend sees her ex at a party. If they talk to each other it won’t end well for them, or for all the other people at the party. You and your friends have to run interference all night to make sure they don’t meet up.
Well, that’s the premise of Brooklyn fave Catt Small’s new game Breakup Squad, available now for $0.99 on most platforms and screens.
“Breakup Squad is a fast and asymmetrical team-based game for five players,” according to the game. “Two people play as former lovers who spot each other at a party after their toxic breakup. Three players are the lovers’ friends who suffer from collateral damage after each makeup and breakup session. Will the lovers be together again, or can the friends keep them apart until the party is over? Make distractions and obstacles to win the cutest breakup game ever!”

Small, Technical.ly Brooklyn’s reigning Technologist of the Year, created the game for the NYU Game Center’s No Quarter exhibition. It’s being distributed by the Brooklyn Gamery, a game collective she helped cofound.
