Our own intrepid reporter, Tyler Woods, will speak Tuesday night about the future of media and life inside a media startup at the NYC Entrepreneurial Journalism and Media Meetup at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. The event is hosted by the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism.
There were a lot of “entrepreneurial journalisms” in that lede, and we think it just means journalism not from legacy publications, like the New York Times or Newsweek. With the lower barriers to entry the internet created, there are a lot of people and organizations trying to inform people about stuff they care about. That’s entrepreneurial journalism, and that is also squarely where Technical.ly sits.
Woods’ last talk, Thoughts on Maps and News and the Future of Journalism, at Bushwick mapping startup CARTO, was a little … different, but worth checking out nonetheless.
Other presenters at CUNY tonight include:

CUNY J-School is at 219 W. 40th St. in *shudders* Manhattan and the talk starts at 6:30 p.m. If you’re going shoot me Woods an email and let’s meet up!
