TicketLeap’s hosting an event featuring Philadelphia makers [DISCOUNT]

Dubbed CREATE, this event features prominent Philadelphians like South Philly Taproom chef Scott Schroeder, Yards Brewing Company cofounder Tom Kehoe, Hidden City founder Thaddeus Squire and singer Lucy Stone. Except for Stone, who will perform, they'll each be talking TED-talk style about what inspires them to create.

And now, for TicketLeap‘s next trick: events.

After ten years of helping organizations sell tickets to events, the Center City company is hosting its own. Dubbed CREATE, this event features prominent Philadelphians like South Philly Taproom chef Scott Schroeder, Yards Brewing Company cofounder Tom Kehoe, Hidden City founder Thaddeus Squire and singer Lucy Stone. Except for Stone, who will perform, they’ll each be speaking TED-talk style about what inspires them to create. It’ll be at the Arden Theatre on Nov. 7.

Get tickets for $20 here. Use discount code ‘TECHY’ for $5 off. It’ll be good until Oct. 11.

COO Tim Raybould said he was excited to venture into the events space.

“There are sure to be a lot of learnings — there already have been — with us using our own product for the first time,” he said. He also followed up in an email to point out that he’s particularly proud of the look and feel of that RSVP page.

TicketLeap hopes to hold more events in Philly and in other cities, said community manager Allison Berger.

It’s an interesting move for TicketLeap, a company with customers across the country and a need to grow nationally, to be focusing on a local community. The event lineup shows a keen sense of what’s hot in Philly now, with the heavy emphasis on the food scene. If this is the start of a clever marketing campaign in which Ticketleap shows off its platform in various markets, starting here at home in Philadelphia, and then expands it, then kudos.
