Chuck Putnam photographs the people of Philadelphia.
On his Facebook page, where he posts his photos, he hopes to “honor the average person, honor the people who are the backbone of the city, so they can have their story heard, their voices heard,” he told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 70-year-old retired computer programmer was inspired by Humans of New York, a site that has more than a million followers on Facebook.
