Matt Bailey leaves DC gov with these parting thoughts

The departing Director of Technology Innovation posted this magnificent tweetstorm. Seriously, read it.

In May 2015 Matt Bailey, the Code for DC cofounder and leading civic hacker, was named D.C.’s very first Director of Technology Innovation. It was something that we at Technical.ly were stoked about, a prominent civic hacker going on the inside to open up local government. It’s a story we’ve long tracked with interest in Philadelphia. And now it was happening in D.C.
Since then Bailey has done all kinds of work within local government, including shepherding the Draft Open Data Policy through its public comment period.
Friday marked Bailey’s final day as Director of Technology Innovation (he’s got a new job, more on that later), and he left with a magnificent tweetstorm detailing some key lessons from his time in D.C. gov.
