Tom Ferrick is now Interim Director and Editor of AxisPhilly

Ferrick, who spent nearly three decades at the Philadelphia Inquirer, will remain in the position until a permanent director has been found.

Just about two weeks after AxisPhilly announced that its CEO, Neil Budde, would be stepping down, it has appointed AxisPhilly contributor Tom Ferrick as Interim Director and Editor of the data-focused journalist nonprofit, according to an announcement sent to Technical.ly Philly.

Ferrick, who spent nearly three decades at the Philadelphia Inquirer, will remain in the position until a permanent director has been found.

Funded by the William Penn Foundation and incubated by Temple University’s Center for Public Interest Journalism, AxisPhilly produces public affairs reporting and news apps and runs data portal OpenDataPhilly.
