Alarm.com, the company that creates cloud-based smart-home technology, announced Thursday that it is planning a European launch in 2016. To execute its international ambitions, Alarm.com has partnered with Securitas AB, a security services company based in Stockholm.
“Security services are driving the adoption of smart home technology today and partnering with a global brand like Securitas is a strong fit for our international strategy,” Reed Grothe, the Senior Vice President of Global Business Development at Alarm.com, said in a statement.
The companies plan to combine forces to bring new commercial and residential security applications to market. For Securitas AB, a partnership with Alarm.com offers new sales channels.
Now a 15-year-old company, Alarm.com went public in June, offering up 7 million shares at $14 a pop.
