Delaware Power Moves: Carvertise continues ambitious growth plan with new VP

Lately, Wilmington-based Carvertise seems to be in every edition of this column. We remember when it was a 1313 Innovation startup by way of University of Delaware. Now, it’s the largest rideshare advertising company in the U.S. It just keeps on growing and bringing on more executive-level talent to keep up the pace.

In this edition, we also feature a new, patient-focused leadership position at ChristianaCare, and other moves in finance, nonprofit and public service.

Carvertise expands its executive team

Carvertise continues on its ambitious growth plan with the appointment of James Stover as vice president of revenue operations. Stover, a former senior director for the Columbian-based delivery app Rappi, will work closely with CEO Mac Macleod and the company executive team.

Between 2019 and 2022, Carvertise doubled its revenue, allowing it to maintain its spot on the latest Inc. 5000 fastest-growing businesses in the U.S. for the third consecutive year. Then, in 2023, the year the company moved into its 15,000-square-foot headquarters in Wilmington’s Riverfront, the company nearly doubled the amount of wrapped cars it had on the roads. Stover’s appointment is part of Carvertise’s ambition to triple revenue over the next five years.

ChristianaCare appoints first chief experience officer

Delaware’s largest healthcare system, ChristianaCare, appointed Dr. Wren Lester as its inaugural chief experience officer. The role will focus on system-wide caregiver engagement and the experiences of its patients and their families.

Lester most recently served as chief experience officer at SUNY Downstate Health in Brooklyn, New York. Before that, she was an associate vice president of patient experience at Planned Parenthood in New York City. Lester even landed on the 2022 and 2023 iterations of Becker’s Top 50 Chief Experience Officers to Know. She serves on a national Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council and was a national Baldrige Examiner from 2016 to 2018.

• Rick Deadwyler, U.S. Eastern region director for government & industry affairs at Corteva Agriscience, joined The Food Bank of Delaware’s Board of Directors.
