It’s Black History Month, and Spending Black Matters is continuing its tradition of uplifting local Black-owned businesses with its newest edition of an annual market later this month.

The third annual pop-up marketplace, which takes place on Feb. 24, is one of Delaware-based Spending Black Matters’ main events. Launched by Influencers Lab Media (which shares two founders with recent EDGE Grant winner Futures First Gaming), Spending Black Matters is a nationwide online community of 33,000 with a mission to increase online traffic to Black-owned businesses and awareness of Black-owned brands. The Facebook group connects small business owners with each other, as well as with consumers who want to spend their money on Black founders’ products.

This year, the marketplace is moving from the Wilmington Library to EastSide Charter School, which is also in Wilmington. As always, there will be many Black-owned business vendors (more than 40 this year), along with networking opportunities, panel discussions and business workshops.
