Lance Hollander is starting the new year with a new role: As of January, the longtime digital marketing exec is CEO of Northern Liberties digital agency From the Future.
Hollander has helped build and sell three digital agencies in his career, including Delphic Digital, which was acquired by Hero Digital in 2017. His latest venture was as cofounder and partner at The Agency Shop, a consulting firm which was acquired by Baltimore’s Catalyte in 2023.
“I’m looking to grow From the Future and build another customer experience agency focused on great digital work [including] media optimization, SEO and customer experience on top of the entire service layer that we provide,” Hollander, who lives outside the city near Manayunk, told Technical.ly.
Hollander has served on From the Future’s board since 2020 and previously advised the company’s founder, Nick Eubanks. Following a financial investment in the company from Hollander and co-managing partners David Herscott and Neil Bar-or, Eubanks shifted to a business advisory role with From the Future. Eubanks is now VP of owned media at Semrush, plus working on a few other entrepreneurial projects, per Hollander.
“We believe that Lance’s expertise will further add to the innovative spirit and client-focused approach that defines From The Future,” Bar-or said in a written statement. “We’re thrilled he’s joining us and are strapping in for the journey ahead under his leadership.”
Now that Hollander is getting back into the digital agency industry, he is looking forward to helping clients solve problems and working with a smart team.
From the Future currently employs “over 25” people, he said. Coworking community Indy Hall also operates in its space on North Second Street.
“It’s nice that you get to work on so many different businesses with so many interesting business models, and help solve it with digital solutions,” Hollander said. “It’s just what I’ve always been passionate about.”
