Who’s getting money?

Storelli Sports raised $500,000 on an offered $4 million round, in debt and equity, according to an SEC filing. The Brooklyn Navy Yard-based company makes high-tech gloves, guards and gear for soccer players. The company was recently featured in the Financial Times.

Who’s making moves?

Reiko Wireless, a maker of accessories for cell phones and other gadgets, has been lured by a tax abatement into Long Island. The company is moving its Bushwick-based facility eastward, lured by a multi-year tax abatement, according to NewsdayTax abatements were one of several topics that came up in our conversation with Tinybop about factors that lure companies out of New York City.

Meanwhile, Point, an app that lets you talk about current events with a limited group of people, is moving to Williamsburg, reports Technical.ly Philly.

PolicyGenius has released its marketplace for pet insurance, Pawbamacare. Wow: Pawbamacare.

Flocabulary has released a new public service rap video about online oversharing.

A menswear line, .Bk, designed around the startup lifestyle, releasing clothes in limited editions, has announced a media venture, Dossier, which will launch August 12.

Carroll Gardens’ Solidoodle has announced a lot of new developments on its blog. Automatic calibrating using a built-in sensor that can render well on uneven surfaces, dual extruders on two of its forthcoming machines (for multicolor printing, among other things) and three new machines, one of which, The Press, has a very attractive tiered preorder discount (started at $349, currently at $399 now, as opposed to $599 once released, but that price may not last). We’re following up with the company for more information.
